Your journey at Braze begins here.
Whether you’ve already applied for a role, or you want to learn more about how we hire, here’s what you can expect when applying for a job at Braze.
Let’s get to know each other.
We’re committed to an inclusive and equitable candidate experience—one that embraces everyone’s uniqueness. Along the way, we encourage you to aim high, challenge yourself (and us), and showcase what makes you you. Please note that this is a general overview of the interview journey—your Talent Partner will advise on specifics depending on your role and location.
Application
First things first.
Once you submit your application, our Talent Team will review it. If there’s a match, we’ll reach out to you to schedule a phone interview.
Recruiter Interview
Let’s chat.
Before the interview, you’ll be connected with a Talent Partner to better understand your background, your motivations, career goals and, of course, discuss what it’s like to be part of the Braze team. Interviewing is a two-way street, so make sure to ask questions to understand whether we’re what you’re looking for as well.
Interviews and Assessments
Greetings and meetings.
Depending on your role and location, you’ll meet with a range of Braze people for a series of interviews and potential assessments. We encourage you to come prepared with examples of your competencies and expertise—your Talent Partner will help you prepare.
* These are role-dependent and not everyone will be required to go through them.
Your hiring manager will ask questions about your experience, how you’d work together, and how you can bring new perspectives to the team.
You can expect more behavioral and situational based questions in this setting, and will have the opportunity to meet some of your potential future team members.
These help us determine your technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication. Depending on the role, you can expect to work through coding challenges, portfolio reviews, case studies, sales presentations, or other job-related tasks.
If you’re a Software Engineer, you will participate in a live coding interview with one of our team members. All other engineering-related roles will have a non-live coding assessment tailored to the role requirements.
Offer & Onboarding
Welcome to the team.
If it’s a match on both ends, your Talent Partner will reach out with details on the best part: your offer! If you accept, we’ll kick off preboarding to get you ready for your first day. When you start, our Onboarding team and your Hiring Manager will be there at each step to be sure you feel empowered to start making an impact.
Our tips and tricks.

"Invest some time in honing your storytelling skills. Tell a story about the problems you have tried to solve, why you wanted to solve them, the challenges you faced, the trade-offs you had to make, and how you collaborated with others to resolve the problems."
Nancy Chiu
Senior Product Designer"Do your research in advance and show genuine curiosity about the work being done. What is the business problem that the interviewer and their team are trying to solve? How would you be able to contribute to that? The more you can demonstrate the ability to be a strong partner and contribute to the solution, the better!"
Lauren Tannehill
GM Central-North & VP, Talent Acquisition & People Operations"Don't be afraid to ask questions! The interview process is for the hiring team to evaluate if you're a great fit, but it's also for you to evaluate if the company is a great fit for you. The transparency from the team's responses during my experience was a huge factor for my decision to join Braze!"
Helen Zhang
Customer Success Manager II, Enterprise"Be confident, be honest, and most importantly, be yourself."
